Want to bring joy and comfort to others? Want to learn how to do Therapy Dog work? Then this is the class for you!

 

This class will teach you and your dog the basics of therapy dog (TD) work and help prepare you to become the best TD team you can be! You will learn TD basics, etiquette, advanced skills and how to bring comfort on all types of visits. You will also learn how to prepare for different types of therapy dog testing administered by national and local Therapy Dog organizations. The class will help you determine if your dog is a good candidate for therapy dog work and how to train, practice, test and get approved to become a TD team.

 

What a wonderful way to spend time with your dog, strengthen the bond you have and bring happiness to others through therapy dog work; come and learn about this terrific way to spend time with your dog and help others!

 

Basic obedience skills are required and a completed basic obedience class is preferred.

 

Our classes are for people and dog-friendly, healthy dogs. If you need a little more help than that, please contact us before signing up for class.

 

We require your dog be vaccinated against:

distemper (CDV),

parvovirus (CPV),

hepatitis (adenovirus) (CAV), parainfluenza (CPiV) and

Bordetella. Bordetella may include parainfluenza (CPiV)—ask your vet if you are unsure.

For dogs over 6 months, please bring proof of rabies vaccination.
